How do I contact you?
We operate completely online. This allows us to offer the best price on heating oil. If you need to contact us, please visit the customer service page of our website and submit your question. You can expect a reply within 1 to 2 business days.

How soon after placing my order can I expect my delivery?
Normal delivery is 3-5 business days. We do not provide same-day or emergency oil deliveries. Orders placed on Saturday or Sunday are delivered in 3-5 business days (under normal weather conditions and/or outside of circumstances beyond our control).  We do not offer same day or emergency delivery.

Who will be making my oil delivery?
We partner with local providers for delivery so we can reduce our overhead and pass the savings on to you.

Do you accept cash or checks?
We do not accept cash or checks. This allows us to pass along the maximum amount of savings to our customers.

How can you offer such low prices?
We can offer lower prices on oil because we partner with local companies and secure discount volume pricing. By offering online ordering only we also have less overhead, allowing us to pass along the savings to our customers.

Is the oil cheaper because it is lower quality?
Not at all. In fact all the oil we sell is Biofuel. Biofuel burns hotter than traditional heating oil and it also burns cleaner, which reduces the wear and tear on heating systems. Biofuel also releases less carbon dioxide into the atmosphere than natural gas.  See below to learn more about BioFuel.

How do you charge my credit card?
Your credit card is pre-approved for the estimated number of gallons at the time of purchase. Once the oil delivery is completed, your credit card will be charged for the exact number of gallons delivered.

What is bioheating (or biodiesel) oil?
Bioheating oil is an environmentally-friendly, renewable fuel produced by blending American soybean oil with ultra-low sulfur heating oil. It’s suitable for use in both diesel engines and standard heating equipment, requiring minimal to no adjustments. This renewable fuel is user-friendly, biodegradable, safe for the environment, and contains virtually no sulfur or aromatic compounds.

How does biodiesel differ from ethanol?
Biodiesel is typically derived from high protein sources like soybean oil through a process called transesterification. It can also be created using various animal fats and vegetable oils. Researchers are continually investigating new sources like pennycress, castor, jatropha, algae, and palm oil to expand the range of biofuel options available. Biodiesel is mixed with regular diesel fuel and used in diesel engines and home heating systems.

Ethanol is an alcohol-based fuel produced through fermentation from plant materials rich in sugar, such as corn, sugar cane, or various types of grasses. Ethanol is blended with gasoline and used in vehicles equipped with gasoline engines.

How is biofuel made?
Biofuel is made through a process that begins with the crushing and pressing of virgin soybeans (or another plant-based source) to extract their oil. This pressing results in two main byproducts: a mash and soybean oil. The mash serves as animal feed and is also used in human products like protein bars. The remaining oil goes through a chemical process known as transesterification, which separates glycerin from the fats and vegetable oils in the source material. The glycerin is sold for use in making soaps and various household items. What’s left after this process are purified methyl esters, which essentially become biodiesel. This biodiesel can be mixed with diesel or #2 heating oil for use in diesel-powered vehicles or heating oil systems. The entire process is efficient, with every component utilized for its intended purpose, leaving nothing wasted.

Is biodiesel cleaner than natural gas?
Research indicates that a biofuel mix with a concentration of 20% or higher, when combined with ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel, produces a cleaner burn compared to natural gas. Experiments conducted by the National Oilheat Research Alliance (NORA) revealed that an 80% low-sulfur heating oil and 20% biodiesel (B20) blend has lower Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG) than natural gas when assessed over a century. Similarly, blends with at least 2% (B-2) are also GHG-friendlier than natural gas when examined over two decades. The use of biodiesel can lead to an 80% or greater reduction in sulfur dioxide emissions, a 20% decrease in nitrogen oxide emissions, and a potential 20% cut in carbon dioxide emissions.

What are the advantages of bioheating oil?
Bioheating oil offers a secure and eco-friendly heating solution, ensuring a cleaner, more efficient combustion process. This renewable energy source contributes to a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, making it a non-toxic and biodegradable option suitable for environmentally sensitive areas. It has the added benefit of extending the lifespan of equipment and decreasing the frequency of maintenance needs. Produced domestically from agricultural or recycled materials, bioheating oil helps reduce the nation’s reliance on foreign oil and supports job creation within the country.

​​Do I need special equipment to burn bioheating oil?
Bioheating oil can be readily used in any traditional heating oil burner without the need for any system adjustments. While bioheating oil has the potential to extend the lifespan of burners and minimize maintenance needs, it’s still advisable to conduct routine heating system inspections and periodic maintenance as a sound practice.

How much biodiesel is blended with heating oil to make bioheating oil?
Bioheating oil can vary in composition from 1% to 100% biodiesel mixed with either heating oil or diesel fuel. The most common Bioheat® fuel blends usually fall within the 2% to 5% range (also known as B2 and B5). Nevertheless, several companies are accustomed to regularly blending 20%, and some even cater to customers who consistently request 100% biodiesel blends.

Should I expect build-up or residue in my tank due to bioheating oil?
No. The opposite is true. Opting for bioheating oil results in a cleaner tank compared to traditional heating oil. It significantly decreases the accumulation of soot and carbon buildup on the nozzle. Over time, this translates into a decreased requirement for maintenance and lowers service expenses.

Does bioheating oil give off as much heat as regular heating oil?
Conventional heating oil does have a higher BTU (British Thermal Unit, which measures heat output) but the advantages of bioheating oil lie in its cleaning properties. Bioheating oil not only lubricates the heating system but also burns cleaner, reducing maintenance and cleaning expenses for the owner. This cleaner combustion leads to improved efficiency throughout the entire heating season. In contrast, petroleum-based heating oil tends to accumulate soot and deposits over time, diminishing burner efficiency and necessitating more fuel consumption to generate the same amount of heat. It’s worth noting that bioheating oil can claim the highest BTU content among alternative fuels.

I still have regular heating oil in my tank – can you deliver bioheating oil anyway?
Yes, absolutely. You don’t need to empty your tank to use bioheating oil. Since bioheating oil is a blend of vegetable oil and traditional petroleum-based heating oil, it easily and safely mixes with the oil already in your tank, allowing you to start using it right away.

Is bioheating oil more expensive than conventional heating oil?
The per gallon cost of bioheating oil might be a few cents higher (though occasionally it could be lower, depending on market changes) but we see this cost variance as justified because of its natural cleaning properties. Over time, you’ll experience cost savings as your heating system operates more efficiently throughout the heating season, resulting in reduced fuel consumption.
